The Essentials
INA NIEHOFF's Way
Introducing The Essentials, INA NIEHOFF’s Way, a series where we ask our friends, the people who inspire us, to share their essential routines, spots, items, and everything else that shapes life with kids.
Meet our very first guest: Ina Niehoff, a Berlin-based photographer with a gift for capturing the quiet beauty in everyday life. This summer, she and her partner became a family of four, and after a few whirlwind years they’re slowing down, spending time in nature between their summerhouse in Brandenburg, the North Sea, and cosy days at home in Berlin. For Ina, it’s all about keeping it simple and holding on to those precious, unhurried moments.
“Calming down by cuddling as a family of four, being thankful for the simplest moments: sunbeams and shadows under the trees, filled with laughter and joy.”
Family ritual?
“Our newest favourite ritual: first thing in the morning, going out together for drawing in our notebooks.”
“My grandmother’s holiday home on a northern German island. It’s a place that always gave me peace and calm, and now I get to share it with my daughters.”
“Jumping. On the playground, on the sofa, in the garden, out in nature... anywhere really.”
“Right now, the garden and the outdoors. Bedding ourselves in the grass, grounding ourselves, and spending as much time in nature as possible.”
“The ultimate spot for my kids to dream, tell stories, and spin fairytales is definitely the hammock.”
